Delft Q - Quakelbrug

The Quackelbrug connected the Oostsingel with Delfgauwseweg. With the widening of the Oostsingel the bridge was demolished in 1927. This photo must have been a few years earlier.

These are the bridges of my childhood. We had many bridges like that in Delft. Imagine all that water and there must be a way to get quickly through town...

    1. Yes, there used to be quite a lot of bridges like this one in our town, but one by one they disappear. I guess I am getting old...

    1. Yes, modern bridges can be nice, but old bridges, well in every ounce of metal there is history.

I truly am in love with history.
