How do you feel about sex and disability?

Another TED-talk, a TEDx-talk this time. This is a video Dr. Sheypuk makes you think about sex and disability, a touchy subject close at home.

She wears designer dresses, dons Louboutins, and dates men all over New York City, documenting her life every step of the way. What starts out as a story analogous to that of a Sex & the City character quickly elevates in its complexity - what would have happened if Carrie Bradshaw had been in a wheelchair? In this TEDx Dr. Danielle Sheypuk gets real about sex and disability, unabashedly exploring sexual satisfaction writ large. She encourages curiosity and invites you to shed your preconceived notions of sexual norms in favour of a new reality that just might pique your interest.

  1. For me, the emotion and caring have to be there for any relationship. So if a man is caring and attentive, doesn't matter if he is in a wheelchair. Anyone who dates for looks is going to be disappointed when they get older.

    1. I agree with Dr. Sheypuk 100%, people with a disability are not considered datable material. In theory all people they say they have no objection, but in practice.

      Forget it,
I know you would Cat. But you are Cat. You are special.
