Braids

When my daughter was young she had really long hair, and the days I was at home taking care of her before she went to school I loved to experiment with different braids in her hair. I remember making one of these, not as beautiful as on the picture, but it's the thought that counts. :-)

  1. What a wonderful dad you are Han. My oldest son has also tried to braid my granddaughters hair when his wife is away. He did do a good job on the day my oldest granddaughter had crazy hair day at school! ;) Thanks for sharing.

    1. It's not up to me to say how good a dad I am - or not - but even when she was small my girl loved to experiment with her hair. It's short and pink now :-)
Anyway braiding is not difficult and I did it 3 or 4 times a week as her mother was on night shift, so it's a mattetofdoing often as well. Practice makes perfect. ( and the braiding technique is not so different from tying knots).

So, we tried some crazy braids back then, and the more complicated, the more she liked to show off.
Her mum did not always agree, picking her up from school: " what DID your father do with your hair?"
      LOL,

    3. You are kind Appy, thank you. We both had fun in doing strange things with her hair. The more strange, the better... LOL

    1. I love those step by step braid things. They give you new idea's sometimes, and sometimes like this one remind you of days long gone...

      Glad your daughter liked them,
      Han

  3. These are lovely, Han. I often put 'side braids' in my hair, but it is very fine and they tend to slip out as I am trying to do them. My hairdresser makes it look easy. I often just wear one braid to bed as otherwise I end up looking like I have had a fight with a bear!

I think it's great that you used to do your daughter's hair. I remember that sometimes my dad used to shampoo my hair when I was younger. He was very good at it, just as good as my mother. I agree that you are a wonderful dad.

    1. Yes, with thick hair it's so much more easy. When my daughter was young I worked in shifts and Wanita worked in shifts and we planned it so we could take care of our daughter with no help from outside. That meant I had to learn fast the simple things about taking care of her, like braiding her hair.

Thank you for your nice words,
      Han
