Youthful ignorance

I never heard Bach's Toccata and Fuge. I was a huge fan of Ekseption. Never made the link to Exception either. So back to my wild hair days.

This is the original from Bach. Discovered that 15 years later, I think. This sounds familiar... Where have I heard this before? Ekseption truly was my introduction and example in classical music. Do watch the video, it's fun I promise.

  1. Brilliant. My introduction to the toccata came via Sky and John Williams

A little later in the decade :)

As for the original, you need hands like spiders to play it, so Sky's version on sheet music was perfect for me.

If Bach had been born now, he'd be a rock star. So I don't think he will turn in his grave with these versions.

    Thanks for sharing.

    1. Ah, is so nice you did the same as I did DelFonte, of course a few years later because you are a youngster. Bach could use his feet as well as his hands playing the organ, and it shows so good in the coulored bars in this YouTube video.

I totally agree with you on the rock star issue. (He is still a bigger rock star to me than those of today :-)

Thank you so much for your comment,
